Wash the gooseberries and put into slow cooker and add the sugar. Squash the ingredients down with the back of spoon to break up the fruiy
Put in medium heat for 3 hours. Occasionally squash the fruit a little more and stir
Allow to cool.
Store in fridge for up to 3 days
Alternative with pan
Alternatively this recipe can be done in a pan. Bring the mixture to temperature and then simmer gently for 30 minutes, squashing and stirring occasionally
