Instant Balsamic “Brown Sauce”

It's a 1st world problem - you're cooking fried eggs and sausages (vegetarian in my case) and you realise you have no brown sauce. Here is your 30 second rescue recipe.

Equipment

  • ramekin or small bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • ½ tsp tomato purée
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce or Henderson's Relish (vegetarian) or a few drops soy sauce
  • ¼ tsp mustard Dijon or English
  • Pinch garlic powder
  • Pinch brown sugar VERY small — just to round out the purée’s sharpness

Optional

  • tiny pinch mixed herbs
  • tiny pinch smoked paprika optional
  • Water as needed to thin maybe none needed.

Instructions
 

  • Mix the balsamic glaze and tomato purée first until completely smooth.
  • Add all the other ingredients and mix well
  • Adjust thickness with a drop or two of water if any needed at all
