
Instant Balsamic “Brown Sauce”
It's a 1st world problem - you're cooking fried eggs and sausages (vegetarian in my case) and you realise you have no brown sauce. Here is your 30 second rescue recipe.

Equipment
- ramekin or small bowl
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp balsamic glaze
- ½ tsp tomato purée
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce or Henderson's Relish (vegetarian) or a few drops soy sauce
- ¼ tsp mustard Dijon or English
- Pinch garlic powder
- Pinch brown sugar VERY small — just to round out the purée’s sharpness
Optional
- tiny pinch mixed herbs
- tiny pinch smoked paprika optional
- Water as needed to thin maybe none needed.
Instructions
- Mix the balsamic glaze and tomato purée first until completely smooth.
- Add all the other ingredients and mix well
- Adjust thickness with a drop or two of water if any needed at all
