Gluten-Free Cheese Scones (The Bakermans Plain Flour)
These savoury scones are light and tender with a rich cheese flavour. They work well served warm.
Ingredients
- 250 g The Bakermans Gluten-Free Plain Flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 50 g butter
- 150 g grated cheese
- 1 egg
- 120 ml milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the grated cheese.
- Add the egg and milk, mixing to form a soft dough.
- Bring together gently and turn onto a lightly floured surface. Pat out to about 2–3cm thick and cut into rounds.
- Place on a baking tray and bake for 12–15 minutes until risen and golden.
Notes
Handle the dough lightly for the best texture. If the mixture feels dry, add a little more milk.
